Why does a mixer show "HDA ATI HDMI" if the ATI card in question has only VGA, DVI, and S-Video outputs?

I recently installed an ATI HD 4350 video card in my computer, and it seems to work well; however, I don't understand why my computer's audio mixer has anything to say about it whatsoever since it has a DVI output rather than an HDMI output.

Any answers or comments of even the slightest meaningful relevance are welcome.|||The card has the audio hardware on it but you use a pass-through to output the audio through your motherboards spdif port.

Don't concern yourself with it unless you require using the hdmi audio.
