Can a laptop with 1366 x 768 resolution output 1080p video to HDTV via HDMI?

i have a windows 7 laptop with 1366 x 768 native resolution, and a nvidia g310m integrated graphics card. now the issue is that when i connect my TV via HDMI to my laptop, 720p fits the HDTV perfectly but 1080p doesnt fit at all! 1080 doesnt fit my TV screen and i dont know what to do!!

please help!|||Is your tv actually a 1080p tv? If so you may need to look at adjusting the screen a little in the tv menu, there are settings like overscan that can correct the issue. If not, then don't use the 1080p setting. But the screen resolution on your laptop has nothing to do with what it can output over hdmi, it should actually be able to output at least 2560x1600, thats pretty normal for a video card to be able to push.
